Volunteer Opportunities with CITYarts

Projects

CITYarts creates many projects every year and volunteers are needed to help on the murals, mosaics, and sculptures themselves.  Types and numbers of opportunities depend on the project.

Pieces for Peace Traveling Exhibition Openings

Assist at opening receptions in various locations around New York City.  First opportunity is in late May at The Cork Gallery, Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center Plaza.

Annual Benefit Gala

Volunteers needed in April and May to assist CITYarts staff to make benefit fundraiser a success.  Duties include: PR, helping to solicit for art and goods and services donations.  During the benefit, volunteers are needed for setup, manning reception desk, food service, ushering, and supervising auction.

CITYarts Office Work

Learn how a nonprofit operates day-to-day.  Help the CITYarts staff by coordinating projects, contacting artists, assembling press kits, updating mailing list, and running errands. 

Board Member

Do you have a strong commitment to the arts and arts education?  CITYarts is looking for volunteer board members to meet with CITYarts’ Executive Director 4 times a year and share their passion to make New York a better city.  Board members are expected to contribute time and funds to the organization and act as advisors to make CITYarts an even better organization.
