Interning at CityArts was the highlight of my summer. CityArts is a well-set up organization with admirable goals that has a real impact on the community; I particularly loved being involved with the on-going projects (such as Pieces for Peace and the beginning of Harlem RBI) where I could actually see by interacting with children in the neighborhood how art can positively impact a community. The volunteer groups I worked with added to my experience; I met people from all over who wanted to make a difference in other people’s lives. The other interns I worked with were wonderful and I hope to keep in touch with them. Moreover, my experience made me realize that I would like to work at a non-profit after college to continue helping people.
