My summer interning at CITYarts was incredible in so many ways. Not only did I witness kids from the different boroughs of New York gain confidence, responsibility, and inspiration within themselves, but also, I witnessed an immense change and growth in my own self. Before starting at the organization, I assumed that I would only be doing office work; I secretly hoped that I would be able to get a chance to actually go to mural sites and create some art. Little did I ever know that that was exactly what I would end up doing, and almost everyday. I knew I always supported non-profits, but CITYarts made me understand exactly why; it is such a positive place for everyone from local children, artists, even volunteers, while it also makes such an impact and transformation on the entire community, all for the good of helping.
