CITYarts
DKNY Celebrates 20th Anniversary with CITYarts
Vol. VI, Issue: 9

Dear Friends,

What a celebration it was! An extremely successful, beautiful business, DKNY goes above and beyond to support an arts education not-for-profit organization: CITYarts.

This is how it should be between businesses and not-for-profits all the time. This is the formula that not only pays all by satisfaction, but benefits our society, community, and sets an example for our younger generation. It's important and fun to share your success. This way, you spread your generosity and good spirit to be noticed by friends, family, and other businesses.

From the photos, you can see what DKNY did for us, a small not-for-profit. They empowered us by creating beautiful tote bags from our Pieces for Peace art, created by New York City kids.

They also built a beautiful display of wooden cubes which we hope to take with us to exhibit at our Pieces for Peace traveling exhibitions. They designed an attractive "Chari-tee" to sell, with a percentage of the proceeds from each shirt going to five not-for-profits, including CITYarts.

On top of that, they served us and our over 300 guests mini champagne bottles and colorful cookies designed specifically for the event. What a great way to celebrate - DKNY took care of all the preparations and made a very nice donation to CITYarts from the day's sales.

The celebration continues with the sale of the Pieces for Peace tote bags and DKNY "Chari-tees", in the company of gorgeous, colorful clothes, until August 12. So don't delay - get your special gifts now and celebrate DKNY's 20th Anniversary, while helping CITYarts involve more youth in their quest for peace.

Thank you again, DKNY. You made our summer!

Best,

Thinking globally and acting locally, CITYarts' projects build bridges of cultural understanding and give youth the opportunity to take an active role in shaping their future.

The Young Minds Build Bridges program connects our youth in New York to the international community, spreading their voices in a quest for peace and raising awareness of global warming.

Our projects give youth a stage to ask, "What can I do to reduce the speed of global warming?" Our teens are taking the future into their own hands, getting actively involved in their communities, and assuming responsibility through the creation of murals and mosaics with CITYarts.

Since 1968, CITYarts has created 272 projects that have transformed communities and impacted over 100,000 kids, collaborated with more than 500 artists, and partnered with over 300,000 volunteers in the process.

Thank you in advance for your generous support and for joining CITYarts in celebrating 40 years of "Making a Difference Through the Arts."
