Translation:

More than 200 guests were invited to an opening ceremony at the UN building, the ceremony of the organization CITYarts, that our art critic, Tsipi Ben-Haim, manages. The ceremony that took place in the bookstore of the UN opened the traveling exhibition Pieces for Peace and the book launch for the book of the same name that documents the international project that Ben-Haim supervises. Youth from all over the world participate in large-scale murals made of components from the work of the youth that represent a bridge among cultures. Among the speakers at this opening event were Ambassador of Israel to the UN Gabriela Shalev, Ambassador of Malta to the UN Saviour Borg, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum of Dubai, who gave her praise of this project, and another 20 Ambassadors from the UN. The COO of the UN Office for Partnerships announced that the organization CITYarts is making history by making youth aware of making peace instead of talking about it. In the picture, Ben-Haim and our Ambassador Shalev with Muna Bin Kalli, the representative of Her Highness from Dubai.

Thinking globally and acting locally, CITYarts' projects build bridges of cultural understanding and give youth the opportunity to take an active role in shaping their future.

The Young Minds Build Bridges program connects our youth in New York to the international community, spreading their voices in a quest for peace and raising awareness of global warming.

Our projects give youth a stage to ask, "What can I do to reduce the speed of global warming?" Our teens are taking the future into their own hands, getting actively involved in their communities, and assuming responsibility through the creation of murals and mosaics with CITYarts.

Since 1968, CITYarts has created 279 projects that have transformed communities and impacted over 100,000 kids, collaborated with more than 500 artists, and partnered with over 300,000 volunteers in the process.

Thank you in advance for your generous support and for joining CITYarts in celebrating 40 years of "Making a Difference Through the Arts."
