Dear Friend,
I strongly believe that this current crisis is an opportunity for us to change our habits and reinstate our values. Helping each other and the community at large is a true necessity that will result in important service paid by satisfaction. Investing in our children and youth is investing in our future.
Please help us to help them get involved in activities that matter, building their self-esteem with the joy of giving back.
We just kicked off our Global HeART Warming workshop project, in collaboration with the Fresh Air Fund and the American Museum of Natural History. Last Saturday, 20 young people from Fresh Air Fund and CITYarts' creative team visited the "Climate Change" exhibit at the Natural History Museum, and afterwards, we returned to the Fresh Air Fund's office, where the youth created artworks inspired by what they learned. It was truly a day to remember for all of us. We all learned in a very meaningful way how to begin to tackle the questions "How can I reduce the speed of global warming?" and "How can I be a part of helping the Global Community?" The great work that we created showed us that, together, we can.
Please donate as generously as possible so we can continue this project with youth from around the world. Happy Holidays and a great 2009.

Thinking globally and acting locally,
CITYarts' projects build bridges of cultural understanding and give
youth the opportunity to take an active role in shaping their future. The Young Minds Build Bridges program connects our youth in New York to the international
community, spreading their voices in a quest for peace and raising awareness of global warming.
Our projects give youth a stage to ask, "What
can I do to reduce the speed of global warming?" Our teens are taking
the future into their own hands, getting actively involved in their
communities, and assuming responsibility through the creation of murals
and mosaics with CITYarts.
Since 1968, CITYarts has created 268 projects that have
transformed communities and impacted over 100,000 kids, collaborated
with more than 500 artists, and partnered with over 300,000 volunteers
in the process. Thank you in advance for your generous support and for
joining CITYarts in celebrating 40 years of "Making a Difference
Through the Arts." |
