Living Planters - Ribbon Cutting
Kicking off UN Climate Change Week
CITYarts & Stonehenge Partners Collaboration
Vol. XI, Issue: 9

Dear Friends,

CITYarts' Global HeART Warming project shows how powerful art can be in raising awareness of very important issues.

We created Living Planters at Stonehenge Village with the participation of their tenants, young and old. Each planter is an artistic celebration of our kids' imaginations of nature while raising awareness of climate change. This life-changing experience tells them that they are an important part of the community. We raised their curiosity and interest to become actively involved in building their future and making a difference in their community.

They "did something" and will continue by watering the planted trees, taking care of the planters, and remembering that using their imagination in a positive way is a cool thing to do that helps save the planet.

Our partners Michael Stern, Samantha Jameson, Hezi Mizrahi, and Ofer Yardeni invited us to create an art project in their community because they care for their tenants and their well-being. We hope that many more exciting, meaningful collaborations will take place in the future.

We all need to do something, holding hands together, to slow the speed of climate change. From December 7-18, the conference in Copenhagen will be deciding the future of our planet. Please get involved in any way you can to show that you care for yourself, your family, and your community. It is our responsibility to show the way to the younger generation so that in the future they'll become great leaders of the world.

Thank you, and come enjoy a tour of our Living Planters. Please RSVP at info@cityarts.org first.

Best wishes,

Thinking globally and acting locally, CITYarts' projects build bridges of cultural understanding and give youth the opportunity to take an active role in shaping their future.

The Young Minds Build Bridges program connects our youth in New York to the international community, spreading their voices in a quest for peace and raising awareness of global warming.

Our projects give youth a stage to ask, "What can I do to reduce the speed of global warming?" Our teens are taking the future into their own hands, getting actively involved in their communities, and assuming responsibility through the creation of murals and mosaics with CITYarts.

Since 1968, CITYarts has created 272 projects that have transformed communities and impacted over 100,000 kids, collaborated with more than 500 artists, and partnered with over 300,000 volunteers in the process.

Thank you in advance for your generous support and for joining CITYarts in celebrating 40 years of "Making a Difference Through the Arts."
