Dear Friends,
CITYarts' Pieces for Peace with Youth from Around the World Traveling Exhibition will be on display for one more week only, through February 10, at the UN Visitors' Lobby. We are also happy to announce that CITYarts' Pieces for Peace will be welcoming kids and families at the American International Toy Fair at the Javits Center, from Feb. 14-17.
We would like to thank our wonderful partners, the UN Office for Partnerships, especially Executive Director Amir Dossal and Chief of Office Lucie Hrbkova; the UN Department of Public Information; Jan Arnesen and Liza Wichmann of the UN Exhibitions office; and of course for making it all possible, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum of Dubai. We had a great celebration with a media event organized especially for members of the Foreign Press Association, as you can see in these pictures. Some schools paid us a surprise visit and created their own Pieces for Peace right there in the exhibition space!
This has been a very meaningful two months at the UN. Participants from 8 more countries joined our project. Now we can happily say that CITYarts' Pieces for Peace is in 48 countries. We are hoping to soon have more countries join. Please help us spread the word.
Thank you, Tsipi Ben-Haim
Executive & Artistic Director, CITYarts

Thinking globally and acting locally,
CITYarts' projects build bridges of cultural understanding and give
youth the opportunity to take an active role in shaping their future. The Young Minds Build Bridges program connects our youth in New York to the international
community, spreading their voices in a quest for peace and raising awareness of global warming.
Our projects give youth a stage to ask, "What
can I do to reduce the speed of global warming?" Our teens are taking
the future into their own hands, getting actively involved in their
communities, and assuming responsibility through the creation of murals
and mosaics with CITYarts.
Since 1968, CITYarts has created 279 projects that have
transformed communities and impacted over 100,000 kids, collaborated
with more than 500 artists, and partnered with over 300,000 volunteers
in the process. Thank you in advance for your generous support and for
joining CITYarts in celebrating 40 years of "Making a Difference
Through the Arts." |
