SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP:

Organization Description and Position Description
CITYarts engages youth and professional artists in the creation of public art, including murals and mosaic. Through this creative process, CITYarts empowers, educates, and connects youth and children locally and around the world to become active participants in realizing their potential and transforming communities.

Social Media interns are expected to document CITYarts murals, workshops, and current projects through photography and videography and coordinate posting these images and videos on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and other social media platforms. Social Media interns should have experience growing various types of accounts, as well as collaborating with other accounts, organizations, and influencers to facilitate social media growth. They will develop and organize an archive system for both current and previous posts. Social Media Interns will be responsible for tracking engagement progress and developing reports on how to improve our social media presence. Interns may also be involved in creation and printing of creative material, and photo cataloging. For this internship, experience with the Adobe suite and supplementary social media applications is preferred.

Requirements:

·Experienced in developing Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and other social media accounts.
·Basic knowledge of Photoshop and Final Cut Pro (or another video editing software), and supplementary social media applications. 
·Having your own equipment is a plus
·Experienced in documenting through photos and video
·Experienced in Microsoft word and excel

Responsibilities: 

·Managing social media accounts and archives, expanding CITYarts’ social media presence to engage with the greater New York City community and our international locations.

·Documenting current projects through photography and video
·Creating, developing, and sharing both promotional and summary videos
·Light design work including creation of brochures, flyers, and advertisements in collaboration with Photo/Design Interns.

QUALIFICATIONS – All interns should have experience managing social media accounts for either companies or organizations. Interns should be familiar with developing accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and more. Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and willing to learn Access. We are looking for interns who are motivated, flexible, committed, and have an interest in the arts and/or the non-profit industry. A positive, enthusiastic attitude is a must.

SCHEDULE – Interns design their own schedule with CITYarts’ staff. Average of 15-20 hours a week.
